What happened?

Colorado Springs police were notified of a shooting at Club Q just before midnight and responded within minutes, Castro said. Thirty four firefighters and eleven ambulances showed up on scene.

Details about how the suspect was apprehended remain unclear, though it seems patrons helped take down the shooter, according to a statement released by y Club Q.

“Club Q is devastated by the senseless attack on our community,” a statement on Facebook said. “Our pray[er]s and thoughts are with all the victims and their families and friends. We thank the quick reactions of heroic customers that subdued the gunman and ended this hate attack.”

Hospitals are working with police to help notify the families of the injured parties.

The FBI is helping with the ongoing investigation.

“Horrific situation in Colorado Springs,” said Rep. Jason Crow, a Congressman representing Colorado’s 6th district, in a tweet. “I’m thinking of all victims & their families, & will continue monitoring the situation. These attacks must stop. My heart is with our LGBTQ+ community as we all reel from this violence.”
