Countries have decided it is 8,848.86m, which is higher than either’s previous measurements

China and Nepal have jointly announced a new height for Mount Everest, ending a discrepancy between them.

The official height is now 8,848.86 metres (29,032ft), China’s official Xinhua news agency said on Tuesday, slightly more than Nepal’s previous measurement and about 4m higher than China’s.
