Putin is not ready to stop this war. Our intelligence reports that he is preparing for mobilization. He wants to do it after his elections to the Duma on September 21. He wants to increase mobilization. Not openly, because he is afraid of his society, but he will do it at the beginning of October, if we don’t cause him problems with logistics, weapons, petrol, diesel, and if our partners don’t impose total sanctions for his aggression.
It will be a big problem because he will aim to mobilize from 300,000 to 500,000 people. It’s not that difficult for him to mobilize this number. He will have internal questions about it, because his society is – and I saw the polls – against mobilization. A significant percentage is also against the war, but still they support Putin. He won’t be able to train these people quickly. It means, again, that he will throw poorly trained people on the battlefield. This, in turn, means a lot of losses.

🇷🇺 Putin has announced that work on Russia’s Poseidon system is nearing completion, saying it is moving towards operational deployment.
Poseidon is a nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed autonomous underwater drone designed to travel thousands of miles beneath the sea before striking coastal cities, naval bases or carrier groups. Because of its range, endurance and underwater approach, it is widely regarded as one of Russia’s most significant strategic deterrent weapons and is often referred to as a “doomsday” weapon.

Axios reports that U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) commander Adm. Brad Cooper recommended ending the recent bombing campaign around the Strait of Hormuz after concluding it had largely achieved its objectives and reached the limit of its effectiveness.
According to Axios, Cooper told senior defense officials that two weeks of strikes had significantly degraded Iran’s ability to attack shipping and that most planned targets had already been hit. He reportedly said the remaining roughly 20% of designated Operation Epic Fury targets would require a return to major combat operations, and that absent such a decision, there was little military value in continuing the limited bombing campaign.
Axios says Cooper’s assessment, along with warnings from Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine about dwindling air defense interceptor stocks, helped influence President Trump’s decision to pause U.S. strikes on Friday. The report adds that U.S.-Iran talks are continuing while both sides appear to be observing an informal “quiet for quiet” pause.Barak Ravid (@BarakRavid)🇺🇸🇮🇷The top U.S. military commander in the Middle East, Adm.
