Elon Musk has suggested that the U.S. government might be behind the speed restrictions on Starlink. As reported by the BBC, Musk stated that “Starshield”—the military version of Starlink—is under the control of the U.S. government.
A senior U.S. official told Axios that Washington has nothing to do with the restrictions on Starlink’s operations in Ukraine. According to the report, the White House informed the Ukrainian side that it does not control SpaceX—the company owned by Elon Musk that operates Starlink.
