Patriot, ATACMS and other precision weapons have been heavily depleted, while THAAD interceptors and counterdrone systems have also been shifted to the region. Replenishing inventories could take years. The shortages are forcing U.S. commanders to adjust contingency plans and have raised concerns about Washington’s ability to respond simultaneously to a potential Chinese attack on Taiwan or a Russian threat to NATO.
