BIG | 🇺🇦🇷🇺‼️‼️ Ukraine’s Security Service is promising a painful response after Russia directly targeted its headquarters in central Kyiv, warning Moscow to expect more covert operations, exposed agent networks and destroyed targets.
The SBU said Russia failed to achieve its objective despite the strike on its headquarters, stressing that acting chief Oleksandr Poklad was unharmed. The service warned that Moscow should expect additional special operations and counterintelligence blows. After meeting Poklad, President Volodymyr Zelensky said the geography of Ukraine’s response has already been determined, with the timing to be chosen for maximum effect.
The strike has already pushed the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine’s security services into a sharper phase. Moscow targeted one of Kyiv’s most important intelligence institutions, while Ukraine has spent years demonstrating that it can reach military, energy and security-linked targets deep inside Russia. With U.S.-mediated diplomacy still struggling to produce results, the Kremlin’s decision to strike the SBU headquarters makes restraint less likely and gives Kyiv another reason to intensify pressure on Russia’s war infrastructure.
