They have already secured one limited agreement: Russia and Ukraine will pause airstrikes to allow the American mission to travel safely between the two countries. Putin said Russia’s pause begins at midnight Moscow time, but there is still no public indication that Moscow moved on the fundamental issues.

The Kremlin’s territorial demands remain unchanged, and Putin told the Americans only that he has “full trust” in U.S. mediation.

Now Witkoff and Kushner are expected in Kyiv on Sunday. The journey itself could be historic: If their U.S. government aircraft lands in Ukraine, Axios reports it will be the first international flight to land in the country since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, and the highest-level U.S. visit to Ukraine of Trump’s second term.  x.com/Maks_NAFO_FELLA/status…
