🚨🇷🇺 Sergey Lavrov is once again invoking World War II mythology to justify Russia’s war against Ukraine, claiming the so-called “special military operation” must end in a way that leaves “no Nazism” in Europe.
Lavrov said Putin had already proposed in 2024 that the war should be concluded so that “Nazism” could no longer spread its “metastases” across Europe. He argued that allowing what he described as a regime that honors Nazi criminals to remain in power would amount to betraying those who defeated Nazism in 1945.
🔥 The rhetoric is less about historical accuracy than political necessity. Moscow continues to wrap an imperial war in the language of the “Great Patriotic War” because the Kremlin needs a moral narrative to justify enormous human, economic and strategic losses. In practice, the “denazification” argument functions as propaganda cover for a war driven by territorial control, coercion and Russia’s attempt to dominate Ukraine.
