The Mecca Agreement’s Fatal Flaw: It Only Works Until Washington Says No
Why the Mecca Agreement is dead on arrival?
The Mecca Joint Defence Agreement declares that an attack on Turkey, Saudi Arabia, or Pakistan is an attack on all three.
On paper, deterrence. In practice, the clause is hollow.
All three depend on the United States for arms, training and security guarantees. None can afford to trigger a clause that pits them against Washington, NATO or Israel.
Riyadh’s F-15s, Pakistan’s economy, Ankara’s F-16 pipeline and NATO membership all run through American goodwill.
A pact built on Islamic solidarity cannot override that dependency, which means it carries no real weight against the West, against Israel, or by extension against Greece and Cyprus.
Compare that with the Greece-Cyprus-Israel framework, increasingly joined by India: no sweeping automatic-trigger rhetoric, just joint exercises, intelligence sharing, special-forces interoperability and technology transfer, built step by step on interests that actually converge.
Symbolic pacts photograph well. Structural ones deter.

🇮🇱🇮🇷 Israel wants to hit Iran solo right as the U.S. heads for the door.
Trump’s own war chiefs are looking for the exit. Joint Chiefs Chairman General Dan Kaine reportedly told Trump straight up that Washington needs a way out, because escalating could backfire and get the opposite of what he wants.
He took that same warning to Ratcliffe, Rubio, and Vance.
The real reason is uglier. The U.S. is low on ammo. Most of its long-range precision missiles are gone after five months, plus half the Tomahawks.
So here’s the box Trump’s in. You can’t bomb your way to victory and you’re out of bombs anyway.
And Israel going solo fixes nothing. Weaker punch, and Iran’s already promised that hitting its infrastructure lights up the whole region.
Israel moves, the off-ramp burns, everyone gets dragged back in.

🇮🇱🇺🇸🇮🇷 Israel is right now telling Washington: if you’re going to shake hands with Tehran, we’ll handle this ourselves.
IDF plans for a solo Iran strike are live and ready while the U.S. is quietly shopping for a diplomatic exit.
Two allies, completely opposite directions. Israel doesn’t need American permission and apparently isn’t waiting for it.
The question is not if, but when Netanyahu decides the diplomacy window closed.

Israel is preparing to strike Iran on its own if the US pulls back from further military action.
Israeli army is keeping plans ready to strike Iran without US support as Washington increasingly looks for a diplomatic way out of the war.
