BREAKING: 🇩🇪🇺🇦 Officially, Ukraine carried out the attack on Nord Stream and plunged Germany into an energy crisis, according to a German court.
Germany has formally charged Ukrainian national Serhii K., an officer of the Ukrainian army at the time of the incident, with being an accomplice to a war crime over the 2022 Nord Stream Pipeline attack.
The attack destroyed 3 of the 4 pipelines that deliver Russian natural gas to Germany.
The charges include acting as an accomplice in a war crime by carrying out attacks on civilian energy infrastructure, causing an explosion, destroying infrastructure, and disrupting public utilities.
German prosecutors claim that the officer, along with other military personnel, was “acting on behalf of state bodies in Ukraine” and had created the plan to destroy the Nord Stream Pipelines to prevent Russian gas deliveries. Serhii allegedly led the Ukrainian team of up to 7 people and piloted the sailing yacht, which was used to carry out the attack.
German media say the evidence is “overwhelming” and includes phone calls where he incriminated himself in intercepted phone calls, although Serhii has denied involvement.
Serhii was arrested on August 21, 2025, in Italy, was extradited to Germany in November 2025, and has been in pre-trial detention ever since.
This is the first time Germany has brought the Nord Stream case to court.

“Under Trump, America is an inconsistent predator and a bully.”
That’s not an activist. It’s Sir Richard Shirreff—NATO’s former deputy supreme commander, who reported to an American general his whole career.
For 77 years the alliance held on one certainty: America would defend it. “Under Trump, that’s gone,” he says. His answer: start planning to Europeanize NATO now. euromaidanpress.com/2026/07/…

PANIC IN CRIMEA – RUSSIAN BUREAUCRATS FLEE AS TOURISM COLLAPSES! 🚗💨📉
The Russian house of cards in occupied Crimea is fracturing from within. Following a devastating week of Ukrainian precision strikes on airbases and the electrical grid, the Atesh partisan movement is reporting total panic sweeping through the occupation administration.
The parameters of the operational collapse on the peninsula are stark:
📁 Emergency Evacuation Orders: Puppet authorities in Feodosia and Kerch have been issued urgent directives from the “Crimean leadership” to pack up and evacuate high-value state documents and equipment immediately.
🤒 The Bureaucrat “Sickness”: Collaborationist officials with exclusive access to official state fuel reserves have suddenly “fallen ill.” They are taking emergency medical leave and weaponizing their fuel rations to rapidly flee across the border into Russia’s Krasnodar region.
🛑 State of Emergency & Mass Exodus: The illegitimate head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, has been forced to declare a regional state of emergency. Meanwhile, multi-mile traffic gridlocks choke the exits out of Crimea, children’s summer camps are being shuttered, and the vital summer tourist season is effectively dead.
My take:This is the textbook climax of a highly coordinated, multi-stage isolation campaign. As Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk noted, these systematic logistics cuts are part of a grander strategy. First, air defenses were blinded; then refining capacity was torched; next, the power grid was severed—and now, the administrative architecture of the occupation is dissolving. The collaborators know the truth: Russian air defense cannot save them, and retribution is at the doorstep. The clock is ticking, the gas is gone, the rats are jumping ship, and Crimea is slipping from Putin’s grasp! ⏳🦅🇺🇦

Italy has joined Bulgaria in resisting the EU’s proposed visa ban on Patriarch Kirill, the Russian Orthodox leader who has blessed Moscow’s war
Rome’s objection stems from the Vatican’s unease at sanctioning a Christian leader — and the package needs all 27 members to pass

We need to put an end to the false narrative that Russia is “retaliating” when it hits Ukrainian civilians.
Russia is the unprovoked, genocidal aggressor that started this war, and Ukraine is the only side fighting back and executing real retaliation.
Calling a Russian missile strike on a Ukrainian apartment block a retaliation is a grotesque distortion of facts. Russia lied for months to cover up its plans before executing a completely unprovoked invasion.
The numbers tell the real story of who is targeting whom. While Ukraine has 2.5 to 3 times fewer total casualties than Russia, Ukraine has dozens of times more civilian casualties.
Russia opened this dark chapter by targeting civilian infrastructure first. Ukraine is retaliating to survive, while Russia is simply continuing its deliberate campaign to destroy the Ukrainian population

Summary
Recent developments highlight intensifying geopolitical tensions, with nuclear posturing in Europe and deepening divides over the Russia-Ukraine war. Historical grievances and identity politics resurface as anti-Semitic tropes are challenged, while strategic partnerships in the South Caucasus and Central Asia signal shifting alliances. The war’s escalation—marked by drone strikes, infrastructure attacks, and rhetorical hardening—suggests a protracted conflict with no diplomatic off-ramps.
Key Stories
Finland and Lithuania greenlight nuclear weapons, provoking Russia — Finland and Lithuania’s decision to allow nuclear weapons on their soil escalates regional tensions, drawing sharp criticism from Russia and raising fears of accidental escalation or miscalculation. The move reflects a broader EU shift toward military assertiveness amid stalled diplomacy.
Ukraine strikes deepen as Russia retaliates with deadly Kyiv bombardment — Ukraine’s drone attacks on Russian energy infrastructure and the Crimean Bridge coincide with Russia’s deadliest strikes on Kyiv, killing at least 17. Both sides vow further escalation, signaling a new phase of the war focused on economic and symbolic targets.
Historical oppression reframed as response to anti-Semitic conspiracy theories — A viral post counters anti-Semitic tropes by linking Jewish influence in media, finance, and Hollywood to historical exclusion from land ownership. The narrative reframes stereotypes as adaptations to systemic discrimination, sparking debates about power, identity, and resilience.
South Caucasus and Central Asia forge new strategic partnerships — Georgia signs a strategic partnership with Uzbekistan, following a similar agreement with Kazakhstan, while the EU advances regional connectivity talks with Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. These moves suggest a realignment of trade and security ties amid Western-Russia tensions.
EU fractures emerge over sanctions on Russian Orthodox leader — Italy and Bulgaria oppose EU sanctions targeting Patriarch Kirill, exposing divisions within the bloc over religious and cultural sensitivities. The rift may indicate broader fatigue with prolonged economic measures against Russia.
