drone attacks on moscow today – AI Mode
Ukraine launched a massive overnight drone attack targeting Moscow and its surrounding region today, striking a critical space facility and resulting in civilian casualties. This barrage is part of an ongoing Ukrainian campaign to take the war directly to the Russian capital. [1, 2]
🔴 Key Damage and CasualtiesSatellite Center Struck: Ukrainian forces successfully hit the Dubna Space Communications Center. Located roughly 310 miles (500 km) from the Ukrainian border, this strategic facility is heavily used for military intelligence and coordinating Russian occupation forces. [1, 3, 4, 5]
Infant Fatality: A six-month-old baby tragically died in the town of Yegoryevsk (southeast of Moscow) after a drone crashed into a private house and ignited a fire. First responders rescued two adults and two other children from the rubble. [1, 2, 6, 7]
Airport Disruption: Russia’s federal aviation agency, Rosaviatsiya, was forced to temporarily restrict arrivals and departures at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky international airports due to the immediate aerial threat. [6, 8]🛡️ Defensive Interceptions
Drones Over Moscow: Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported that air defenses shot down at least 61 drones directly approaching the capital over multiple waves. [1, 3]
Broader Countrywide Raid: According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a staggering 419 Ukrainian drones were intercepted or destroyed overnight across 18 different Russian regions and occupied Crimea. [1, 7]🌍 Geopolitical Context
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the operation, framing the strikes as part of Ukraine’s “long-range sanctions”. He emphasized that targeting these high-value military intelligence sites is actively aimed at disrupting the Kremlin’s domestic logistics and compelling Russia to end its invasion. This major escalation follows a week of severe drone warfare that has already sparked fires at Moscow-area oil refineries and caused noticeable fuel shortages at local gas stations.

“Gay” and “queer” are increasingly used interchangeably in progressive discourse. But the two words don’t mean the same thing. And in that difference lies a danger for our hard-fought equality.
