While Pride is a time for celebration, it is also an opportunity for reflection. Today’s video scrapbook of photos wraps up our month-long tribute to the boys that came before us – those that lived in the shadow of a disapproving and hostile society when the danger of being exposed as gay forced them to live double lives in absolute secrecy. Let us never forget:

Until the late 20th century, the medical establishment universally considered being gay a mental illness.

Police forces routinely targeted gay bars, undercover officers frequently engaged in entrapment, and newspapers often published the names, addresses, and the place of employment for those arrested.

Homosexual acts were routinely prosecuted under “sodomy” or “gross indecency” laws and often resulted in being registered as a sex offender.

The U.S. government and military viewed homosexuality as a national security threat.

Many countries, including the USA, legally barred homosexual immigrants from entering their country.

Gay victims of domestic violence, assault, or theft had zero recourse to the legal system, as contacting the police meant admitting to an illegal lifestyle.

Before modern non-discrimination laws, it was entirely legal for private employers to fire someone simply for being gay and for landlords to evict suspected gay tenants.

And gay parents routinely lost custody of their children in divorce proceedings, as the courts viewed homosexuality as immoral and unfit for child-rearing.

the 40-day operation keeps moving forward… 💥🚗 zelensky confirmed on sunday that ukraines drone fleet successfully struck two russian oil refineries overnight – one in krasnodar (300 km away) and one in jaroslavl, a whopping 700 km deep into russia. kiev is seriously tightening the squeeze on russias fuel supply, and these constant strikes are causing acute shortages with massive gas lines and rationing. in krasnodar, a major fire broke out at the slavyansk refinery, and in jaroslavl, just east of moscow, the governor panicked so much from the drones that they put temporary traffic restrictions on roads leading straight into the capital!! when the war gets this close to moscow and the gas stations run dry, no amount of state tv propaganda can save the facade. things are breaking down… just a thought.

Russia lies about absolutely everything, turning deception into a core state policy.

With a regime built entirely on constant fabrications, how could we ever trust a single word they say again?

Russia lied about the “separatists” in Eastern Ukraine back in 2014. They claimed they were just local rebels when it was actually the Russian army leading the charge. Back then, many in the West seriously argued they weren’t Russian troops, but everyone knows the truth now.

They shamelessly lied about downing the Malaysian Airlines plane. Today, the world knows with absolute certainty that it was a Russian Buk anti-air system that downed it.

They spent an entire year moving mass amounts of troops to the border while explicitly promising they had no plans of attacking Ukraine. They maintained that exact lie until the very last day before launching a full-scale invasion, followed by immediate lies about why they were attacking.

When they got decisively defeated around Kyiv, they lied again, calling their chaotic retreat a “gesture of goodwill.” A year later, they even changed that lie into a brand new one, claiming they withdrew because Ukraine was about to sign a peace deal in Istanbul.

Everyone knows Russia would never withdraw pre-emptively before any papers are signed. They didn’t leave out of kindness or diplomacy. They simply got defeated.

Since then, they have just been repeating the same old fabrications, proving there is zero reason to trust anything as long as this regime is in power

Israeli PM Netanyahu:
