A former MI6 chief saw Bond as great branding but lousy tradecraft. Real spies need restraint, emotional intelligence and respect for law. For the CIA, that discipline matters when one bad covert move can trigger a geopolitical crisis. #CIA #MI6 #NationalSecurity

🇺🇸‼️🇷🇺 A major new U.S. sanctions bill targeting Russia is now at risk of dying in the House, despite clearing the Senate quickly and being strongly backed by Senator Lindsey Graham.
According to POLITICO, consideration of the bill has effectively stalled in the House of Representatives after Republican leadership under Speaker Mike Johnson left it off this week’s agenda. Some Republicans oppose the measure outright, while others remain undecided. As a result, POLITICO says the package may not even reach a House vote before the November elections.
The political symbolism is hard to ignore. Johnson was also central to the 2024 delay of U.S. aid to Ukraine, when military assistance was held up for months at a critical stage of the war. A repeat pattern on sanctions would once again give Moscow valuable time, weaken pressure on the Kremlin and raise fresh questions about whether U.S. political divisions are becoming one of Russia’s most effective strategic advantages.

Germany is taking the suspected Russian sabotage attempt at Leipzig/Halle Airport to NATO.
According to BILD, Germany will present evidence of Russian involvement to the NATO Council on Wednesday.
France, the UK and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte are expected to support a coordinated response.
Possible measures include new sanctions, action against Russia’s shadow fleet, tighter entry rules for Russian citizens and further diplomatic restrictions.
Chancellor Friedrich Merz sees the incident as a serious escalation and warns that Germany must prepare for more hybrid attacks.

Ukraine is in desperate need of Patriot PAC-3 missiles. The world is desperately short on spares. So taking older PAC-2 interceptors from Greece and Spain might be the best solution — if those countries agree. bloomberg.com/news/newslette…
