I began my visit to New York by a meeting with U.S. senators. I thanked them for their strong bipartisan support for Ukraine and for passing The Lindsey Graham’s sanctions bill. This is absolutely the right step, and once it is fully implemented, peace and guaranteed security will certainly be closer.
We agreed that our teams will work closely on sanctions. I briefed the senators on the de-escalation proposals we will discuss with the President of the United States. We also raised our need for ballistic missile interceptors and the challenges we face ahead of the coming winter. There are things we can do together with America to protect lives. American made Patriot Systems cannot be replaced at this point, and the more anti-ballistic protection Ukraine has, the less emboldened Russia will be to continue its strikes and prolong the war. 🇺🇦🇺🇸 Zelensky didn’t come to New York just to make speeches… he arrived with drones, money, air defenses AND de-escalation on the agenda
He says a new drone deal with the U.S. is being prepared for signing as he meets Trump, European leaders, senators and other influential figures, while Ukraine also pushes to reinforce its skies before winter and secure the financing it needs.
The striking part is that more military support and proposals to cool the conflict are being discussed on the SAME trip.
Can New York produce an actual path toward de-escalation… or will Ukraine leave with more tools to keep fighting?
