My take:This is textbook geopolitical copism. When your own state television is forced to report that your technology is stagnating, and your domestic economy is facing an inevitable transportation paralysis, your only remaining option is to rebrand isolation as “independence.”
Russia hasn’t achieved sovereignty; it has successfully converted itself into a resource colony for China. They traded mutual trade with the West for a one-way dependency on Beijing. As Kyiv accelerates its deep operations and Europe secures the Eastern Flank with autonomous steel, Putin is left ruling a nation that has actively bartered away its technological future.
