On the night of 29–30 July 2026, Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces carried out a major attack using long-range missiles ground-, air- and sea-launched and drones.

The targets were military airfields, defence-industry sites, telecommunications and logistics centres linked to missiles and drones in Kyiv, Lviv and the Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Vinnytsia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, plus cargo ships near Odesa’s Yuzhny port that were allegedly carrying weapons. 

Ukrainian and international reports confirmed a large combined strike involving more than 70 missiles and over 280 drones.

At least 7–8 people were killed including children and dozens injured. Residential buildings were damaged in Lviv and Kyiv, among other places.
