But don’t expect them to touch Iran, the Taliban, or Kashmir. The fine print is almost certainly narrow: protect Saudi energy infrastructure, nothing more. This was a panic move after the Houthis hit Aramco. Riyadh needed instant backup and bought it. The alliance looks big on paper. In practice it’s a very specific insurance policy.
