🚨🇺🇦🇺🇸🇹🇷🚀 Ukraine has purchased 70 M39 ATACMS ballistic missiles, 12 M270 multiple-launch rocket systems, and tens of thousands of cluster munitions from Türkiye, according to Ukrainian defense outlet Militarnyi.
The transfer is detailed in U.S. State Department reports published in the official records of the U.S. Congress on August 6, 2026.
The M270 is capable of launching both GMLRS guided rockets and ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles, significantly expanding Ukraine’s long-range precision-strike capabilities.
Because the weapons are of U.S. origin, their transfer from Türkiye to Ukraine requires Washington’s approval for third-country re-export. The planned transfer was therefore published in the Congressional Record as part of the legally required U.S. authorization procedure.
The acquisition is particularly significant because the 70 M39 ATACMS missiles, combined with additional M270 launchers and a large stock of cluster munitions, would provide Ukraine with another substantial package of firepower for striking Russian military concentrations, logistics, air-defense assets, and other high-value targets.
