🇺🇸 🇨🇳 A U.S. Navy destroyer spent four straight days without power in the South China Sea.
The USS Benfold lost its generators last month. No toilets, no air conditioning, no galley, no potable water, in blistering heat that hit nearly 100°F.
Crew had to be fed by another ship and eventually towed to the Philippines for repairs. No one was hurt, but the incident highlights how stretched the Navy is getting while juggling the Iran war and global commitments.
