U.S. intelligence is reportedly warning that Russia could launch a major ballistic-missile attack against Ukraine within the next 48 hours, with Kyiv and the surrounding region considered particularly exposed.

According to the warning, Moscow has prepared as many as 35 ballistic missiles for possible use. Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast have already faced sustained pressure from Shahed-type jet-powered drones over recent days.

If Russia fires the prepared missiles in a concentrated salvo, Ukraine’s air defenses could face an intense saturation challenge around the capital.

The pattern would be strategically familiar: maintain continuous drone pressure, force Ukraine to expend interceptors and reveal defensive priorities, then follow with faster and more difficult ballistic threats against critical targets.

The attack has not yet been confirmed. But if the intelligence is accurate, Kyiv may be facing one of its most demanding air-defense tests in recent weeks.
