Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Andrey Kelin from his position as Ambassador of Russia to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. He had held the position since 2019. On September 24th, Alexei Meshkov, who had served in Paris since 2017, was dismissed from his position as Ambassador to France. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow does not plan to quickly appoint new heads of diplomatic missions in London and Paris, due to the strained bilateral relations with these countries.
