My impression: Hanning was on the right track with his “frequent” remarks about the role of the “STATE SUPPORT” for Hamburg cell, although it is unclear if he considered Germany itself in this role. It was a powerful opinion, at odds with the official version of the non-state Al Qaeda, and someone (the true culprits) probably did not like it, because it could lead directly to them. What followed, looks like a SET UP, the series of traps for Hanning, from his financial ruin (prearranged?) to his various unrelated private investigations which eventually lead to his arrest and current predicament.
