🇮🇱 Both Netanyahu’s camp and the Israeli opposition are reportedly reaching out to Arab political parties as negotiations begin over the formation of the next government.
Ra’am leader Mansour Abbas says his party has been approached by politicians from both sides.
“Everyone is speaking with us, not just from the ‘change bloc.’”
Ra’am is a conservative Arab party that favors negotiating with Israeli governments to secure improvements in housing, infrastructure, public safety and funding for Arab communities.
In 2021, Abbas held talks with Netanyahu before joining the Bennett–Lapid coalition, making Ra’am the first independent Arab party to join an Israeli governing coalition.
With Netanyahu’s bloc projected to hold just 55 seats, six short of a majority, support from Arab parties could become central to the negotiations over who forms Israel’s next government.
