🇮🇱 Netanyahu’s grip on power faces another challenge, with Israel’s United Arab List declaring it is prepared to support a government led by Gadi Eisenkot without demanding anything in return.
A senior official from the party, led by Mansour Abbas, said it would back Eisenkot even without a formal coalition agreement or guarantees on funding, legislation or government policy.
The priority is clear: preventing Netanyahu from remaining in power.
Following Israel’s election, Netanyahu’s bloc secured just 53 seats, while Eisenkot’s opposition bloc won 48 and the two Arab parties together secured 19.
Both Arab parties have recommended Eisenkot for prime minister, giving him enough parliamentary backing to attempt forming a government.
However, resistance within Eisenkot’s own bloc to relying on Arab parties could complicate his efforts.
For now, the United Arab List is signaling that removing Netanyahu matters more than securing concessions for its own voters.
