Newly released #CIA documents from 1998 show Osama bin Laden was considering terrorist attacks on the #UK, as well as the #USA, years before 9/11.
– A top-secret President’s Daily Brief prepared for Bill Clinton on 28 August 1998 (a week after US cruise-missile strikes on al-Qaeda bases following the embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania) said Bin Laden was “looking at options for further attacks against the US as well as the UK.”
– A December 1998 memo repeated “strong indications” that he wanted to attack the US and allies such as the UK and Israel on their own soil.
