2020年10月、オクトーバーサプライズで公開された、ハンター・バイデン氏のノートパソコンについて、2023年、下院司法委員会に対し「ハンター・バイデン氏に関する捜査には一切関与していない」と虚偽の証言を行ったとされ、FBIの元幹部、Nikki Floris(ニッキ・フローリス)氏とBradley Benavides(ブラッドリー・ベナビデス)氏が 逮捕状に基づき出頭しました。両元幹部は、2020年の選挙当時、「外国影響工作タスクフォース(FITF 現在は解散)」を率いていました。フローリス氏は2019年半ばから2022年半ばまで副局長補佐(Deputy Assistant Director)を務め、ベナビデス氏は2019年半ばから選挙期間中にかけて課長(Section Chief)を務めていました。米国司法省によると、両名は2023年、下院司法委員会に対し「FITFはハンター・バイデン氏に関する捜査には一切関与していない」と虚偽の証言を行ったとされます。しかし、内部通信記録や機密ブリーフィング資料には、両名がこの捜査に関与していたことを示す証拠が残されています。
証拠によると、フローリス氏は1年以上にわたり、FITF内部およびFBIの他の関係者らと、ハンター・バイデン氏に関するFBIの捜査について日常的に協議していました。また、ベナビデス氏は「ハンター・バイデン氏のノートパソコンの存在をウィキペディアで知った」と主張していましたが、実際には2020年の選挙に向けた準備期間中、FBI職員らとこのノートパソコンについて頻繁に話し合っていたことが判明しています。
FBIの防諜担当副局長補佐を務めていたニッキ・フロリス氏は、2020年9月付の(後に機密解除された)テキストメッセージの中で、自身が「実質的にFBI内で『影の政府』を運営していた」と記していました。この発言は、彼女のチームが、中国が2020年大統領選挙に影響を与える目的で偽造の米国運転免許証を作成していたとする「情報報告書(Intelligence Information Report)」を回収・隠蔽していた際に行われたものでした。
補足: ハンター・バイデンノートPCについて
2019年春ハンター・バイデン氏は自身のPC3台をデラウェア州のパソコン修理店に持ち込み修理を依頼します。修理店が修理が終わった連絡をしても、PCの受け取りは行われず、修理店の店主はPC破棄前に修復したデータを確認したところ、ハンター氏の薬物中毒、銃不法所持、売春に関するものからウクライナ、中国からの賄賂受取に関する内容のものが続出。 修理店店主はFBIに通報し、2019年12月FBIはPCを押収します。
ところが、半年以上経っても、ハンターPCに関する話題が世間に出てこないのを不審に思った店主は、データを当時、トランプ大統領の個人弁護士を務めていたジュリアーニ氏に。 これが2020年10月NYPからオクトーバーサプライズとして公開されます。が、当時、バイデンを大統領に据えたかった民主党が、この情報を「トランプ大統領が、ロシアと結託してでっち上げた偽情報」と反論。SNS、主要メディアに一斉に検閲をかけこの情報を抑圧します。
今回のFBIの元幹部2名の起訴、逮捕は、ハンター氏のノートPCについて、2023年の下院司法委員会に対し「一切関与していない」と証言していたにも関わらず、今年初め、機密加除された数々の文書から、この元幹部2名が深く関わっていたことが明らかになったためです。
