From @WSJopinion: Trump’s Iran war was a miscalculation. He had neither the military resources nor the domestic support for a long war, nor the personal appetite for one, writes Holman W. Jenkins, Jr.

It was a pleasure to welcome @wesstreeting to Kyiv for the first time. We appreciate that his visit comes right after yet another Russian attack on our people. I briefed the Secretary on the consequences of this onslaught against life and on our needs, as Russia seeks to significantly ramp up its ballistic missile production ahead of winter.
We discussed how the UK could help Ukraine better protect our cities and communities from such ballistic threats – both bilaterally and multilaterally – just as it has done many times before by helping secure supplies of scarce defensive equipment. In particular, we discussed opportunities to establish coproduction of certain types of weaponry, as both the UK and Ukraine possess strong battle-proven capabilities. We also discussed sanctions against Russian enterprises involved in the production of ballistic missiles. Every effort to undermine Russia’s war machine and its bet on ballistic terror matters.
Thank you to the United Kingdom, His Majesty, the Prime Minister, and the British people for your unwavering support.

🚨🇺🇸🇺🇦 Trump has reportedly rejected Zelensky’s request for 300 additional Patriot interceptors. The decision underscores growing concerns in Washington over dwindling U.S. missile stockpiles as tensions in the Middle East continue to rise.
According to the Financial Times, President Donald Trump declined Ukraine’s request for 300 additional Patriot interceptor missiles, citing limited U.S. inventories.
The report says Trump argued that, amid the ongoing conflict with Iran, the interceptors are needed to protect American forces, military bases, and strategic assets across the Middle East and the Persian Gulf.
The decision reflects the increasing strain on U.S. air defense resources, as Washington seeks to balance support for Ukraine with the need to maintain sufficient missile reserves for its own global security commitments.
