🇮🇱🇹🇷 Israel’s defense minister told Erdogan to stay out of Syria or pretty much end up like Iran.
Israel Katz posted that Erdogan is dragging Turkey into dangerous adventures in Syria, and that Israel will not allow any actor to threaten its security.
He suggested Erdogan stick to fanciful rhetoric in the Turkish parliament rather than test Israel’s determination to defend itself.
The two have been racing for influence in Syria since Assad fell in December 2024.
It boiled over this week when Israel bombed the Abu al-Duhur airbase in Idlib over intelligence that Damascus was about to let Turkish troops deploy there. Ankara called the strike an unlawful attack on Syrian sovereignty.
Picking a fight with Turkey while already tangling with half the region is ambitious if nothing else.

European governments and institutions have issued condemnations and rejections of the latest US sanctions against International Criminal Court President Judge Tomoko Akane and Senior Trial Lawyer Abdoulaye Seye of the Office of the Prosecutor. The sanctions freeze any assets they hold within US jurisdiction and restrict their access to the US financial system.

🚨🇺🇸 The Army is shutting down its drone assault battalion in the same year drones rewrote how wars are fought…
Six hundred soldiers stood up in January to learn drone and robotic warfare from the people actually doing it.
They rotated through Kyiv, trained alongside Ukrainian operators, and last spring watched a Ukrainian force playing the adversary beat an American brigade combat team with drones in a NATO exercise.
After one more exercise in Germany, the unit files its findings and goes back to being airborne infantry.
The timing is what jars.
This war has turned on $20,000 drones drawing $4 million interceptors, and 45 Reapers are gone.
Russia and Ukraine both run dedicated drone branches.
The Army says it stays committed to drone dominance but has not said what replaces the battalion, and defense analysts warn the lesson-learning slows down right as the lessons arrive.
