US navy has shifted its main regional logistics hub to Diego Garcia after Iran struck and severely damaged its base in Bahrain, contributing to supply problems aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.
Bahrain and Fujairah in the UAE have traditionally been key ports for US carriers to rest and resupply, but both are within range of Iranian missiles.
Diego Garcia is roughly 4,000 km from Iran, putting it farther out of Iran’s reach. However Iran still has the capability to strike the island.

🇷🇺 Russia: 882 mcmTwo decades ago, Russia supplied more than 60% of Türkiye’s natural gas. Azerbaijani gas did not begin flowing through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline until 2007.
Now, Azerbaijan is No. 1.

🇺🇦🇺🇸🔥 Ukraine has informed Washington that its deep-strike campaign against Russia is entering a new phase, with the scale and intensity of attacks set to increase significantly. Kyiv is signaling that systematic destruction of Russia’s strategic rear is becoming an even larger part of its war strategy.
According to Ukrainian media, the Defense Ministry delivered a memorandum to the Trump administration stating that the SBU carried out more than 100 successful strikes on strategic targets in just 40 days. For the first time, all 10 of Russia’s largest oil refineries were targeted, with more than 30% of Russian refining capacity reportedly disabled and damage estimated at around $15 billion. The document also warned of a critical shortage of PAC-2 and PAC-3 interceptors, leaving Ukraine with dangerously limited capacity against Russian ballistic missiles.
Kyiv is effectively preparing Washington for a more aggressive phase of the war. With Ukraine also warning that Russia could mobilize up to 500,000 additional personnel after September’s State Duma elections, expanding deep strikes offers a way to attack the infrastructure, fuel and logistics needed to sustain that manpower before it reaches the battlefield. Ukraine’s answer to Russia’s numerical advantage is increasingly clear: make the Russian rear part of the frontline.
