BIG | 🇺🇸🇺🇦‼️‼️ Former CIA Director and retired U.S. Army General David Petraeus says Ukraine is not merely the largest land war in Europe since World War II, but the defining military laboratory of the 21st century, where the foundations of future warfare are being rewritten in real time.
Petraeus argued that future historians may study the war in Ukraine in the same way previous generations examined the American Civil War and the two World Wars. The lasting importance, he said, will not come from every individual tactical lesson, but from the way the conflict demonstrates that warfare has entered a fundamentally new era. Ukraine is already exposing how drones, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, electronic warfare and rapidly evolving battlefield networks are transforming the relationship between soldiers, machines and traditional military platforms.
Ukraine has become the clearest warning to Western militaries that technological adaptation can no longer move at peacetime speed. Cheap unmanned systems are reshaping reconnaissance, strike operations and the survivability of conventional forces, while both Ukraine and Russia are iterating battlefield technology far faster than most NATO procurement systems were designed to handle. For the United States and Europe, supporting Ukraine is therefore not only about resisting Russian aggression. It is also an opportunity to absorb combat lessons that could determine how NATO prepares for the next generation of warfare.

So now that the negotiations have officially started, we should expect them to last at least 3 hours, if not longer. According to the Kremlin, the talks in Moscow lasted 3 hours and 10 minutes.
Especially since the negotiations in Ukraine include 2 rounds: the Ukraine-U.S. team and the Ukraine-U.S.-European NSAs team.
Although the essence of the talks is still something of a mystery, Moscow has given no indication that it intends to end this war. If anything, all signs point to russia preparing to escalate further in Ukraine and potentially against neighboring European countries.

Auterion and Ukraine’s Airlogix are building them in Munich under a roughly €300 million German government order, with deliveries running through mid-2027.
The drones use AI to keep flying when electronic warfare starts murdering the electronics.
Turns out the drone war needed a German factory.

🙃‼️🇺🇸🇷🇺 It is awful to watch Witkoff and Kushner walking around Kyiv and Moscow with foolish looks on their faces, apparently seriously believing, likely with Trump acting as the “toastmaster,” that they can establish peace between Russia and Ukraine amid a kind of stalemate in the war through concessions and “marketing” offers.
Today, the only effective way to bring the war to an end is to intensively arm Ukraine and strengthen its defensive capabilities. Unfortunately, and by now quite clearly, Trump is not doing this because, in this war, he sees Ukraine as the weak side and Russia as the strong one, rich in energy resources but in a difficult position because of the war and, under such circumstances, potentially easy to “win over” as a valuable trade and energy partner amid a future confrontation with China. The ongoing war stands in Trump’s way, and he needs it to end. That is precisely why, on the one hand, he is trying to apply his “professional” habits through business diplomacy, which did not work in Gaza and certainly will not work in the Russia-Ukraine war, while at the same time, in order to pressure the weaker side that refuses to submit, he is withholding military materiel and technical assistance from Ukraine, including critically important air and missile defense interceptors, as well as permission to use Starlink satellite internet for strikes on Russian territory. This gives Russia greater opportunity to continue its slow advance on the front while relentlessly attacking Ukraine’s vulnerable civilian, energy, and industrial facilities, creating a humanitarian crisis and, amid growing public dissatisfaction, pressuring the Ukrainian government into accepting a disgraceful ceasefire that would make Putin happy and, of course, Trump as well.
P.S. It is separately awful to watch those people who believe that these actions by the Trump administration are part of Trump’s brilliant plan.
